We are searching for an accountable, multitalented scientist specialized in the field of Computational Cancer Genomics to support our Oncology Antigen Discovery and Computational Research team located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The position is embedded in the Antigen Discovery and Validation department, consisting of a multidisciplinary team of cancer genomics, molecular biology, computational science, and immunology experts. The primary goal of the Discovery team is the analysis of proteomics, genomics, and transcriptomics data from internal and external sources with the aim to identify and select personalized as well as shared antigens for development of either personalized or off-the-shelf cancer vaccines.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Major contribution to the performance of our antigen discovery pipeline to identify and prioritize tumor antigens for oncology programs;
  • Continuous improvement of the discovery pipeline performance by integrating newly acquired in-house and public data;
  • Close collaboration with other members of the Antigen Discovery and Validation team on internal and external projects;
  • Active support and participation in cross-functional projects with other CureVac departments.

Your Qualifications:

  • PhD in a computational field (e.g. computational immunology, systems biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or similar), focus on immune-oncology is a plus;
  • Proven track record of building bioinformatics software and/or data analysis pipelines/workflows with experience in Linux computing environments;
  • Well versed in at least one scripting language, preferably Python;
  • Keenly aware of software development best practices: package development, unit testing, version control (git), containerization (Docker);
  • Experience with machine learning and cloud computing is a plus;
  • Pro-active attitude with can-do mentality;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in (multidisciplinary) teams;
  • Highly motivated, strategically minded, and solution-oriented with strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Fluency in English.
