Microbiology Market Management Director

What will be your accountabilities?
You will be responsible for leading the global marketing strategy & product pipeline for bioMérieux microbiology product range for fast and conventional microbiology.
This executive oversees the product lifecycle management, commercialization and market expansion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on business goals, ensure market readiness, and drive revenue growth.
You will manage a team of Global Market Managers and drive the team through on-going transformation processes e.g., Launch Excellence, G2M (Go To Market), GOM (Go Out Of Market) CRM, VOC (Voice Of Customers), Marketing training and capabilities, and develop people in their own expertise and leadership while fostering excellent team spirit.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Product & Market Management (Downstream Activities):
- Lead the creation and execution of global brand plans for our microbiology range globally, and for all market segments, from developing to developed settings, ensuring alignment with the overall corporate strategy and commercial priorities, and supporting the regions in developing their regional and local Marketing Brand Plans;
- Ensure excellence in Go to Market and product launches activities (instruments and panels), develop pricing strategies, and ensure marketing and promotional plans align with regional and local objectives;
- Drive product commercialization efforts by supporting regional marketing teams with tools, training, and operational support;
- Support Regions and Subsidiaries in reaching their business objectives;
- Collaborate with the supply chain to facilitate monthly forecasting process focusing on key products, address issues like backorders and product allocations while supporting sales and marketing teams in regions and subsidiaries;
- Monitor market performance, assess the impact of marketing activities, and adjust strategies to maximize commercial success;
- Leading the development of a consolidated view of the global business potential for our microbiology range for the mid and long term, as a key input for major company decisions (eg localization strategy in China).
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with the regions’ leadership teams and regional/local marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of strategy and business goals;
- Collaborate with other functions such as Global Customer Service, Medical Affairs, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to drive successful product development, regulatory approvals, and commercialization.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Market Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture;
- Set clear goals for team members, ensuring that talent development, recruitment, and retention align with the company’s long-term objectives;
- Ensure a strong organizational structure is in place for the achievement of business goals, managing budgets and resources efficiently.
What is your profile?
- Post-graduate degree in Microbiology/Infectious Diseases, Marketing, or Business; MBA or PhD preferred;
- Dual business and scientific background would be a plus;
- Established commercial leadership in the IVD microbiology market;
- Global/Regional Marketing experience in the IVD microbiology market. Strong upstream & downstream capabilities demonstrated by tangible results.
Skills & Expertise:
- Deep understanding of microbiology diagnostic markets, customer needs, and competitive landscape;
- Proven ability to manage complex environments with multi-level stakeholders across different functions and geographies;
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with a proven track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams;
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, capable of making clear recommendations to senior management and the Executive Committee;
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies, managing by influence in a cross-cultural, multi-site environment;
- Excellent analytical and marketing skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making;
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver results on time;
- High level of integrity, team spirit, and customer focus.
