Job Summary:
As a Bioinformatics Analyst, you will process and analyze Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, develop data pipelines, and contribute to software and application development. This role requires collaboration across teams, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analyses;
- Develop and optimize data processing pipelines for genomics and other laboratory testing assays;
- Create and maintain software applications, databases, and custom scripts for bioinformatics tasks;
- Maintain sample tracking logs and ensure timely delivery of results to customers;
- Support both internal and external data analysis projects and application development initiatives;
- Manage data archival, storage, and computing resources to ensure efficiency and accessibility;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related Life Sciences discipline;
- Demonstrable experience in bioinformatics within an industrial, academic, or government laboratory setting;
- Proven expertise in building and delivering NGS data analysis pipelines and software applications;
- Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python, SQL, and shell scripting;
- Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, Batch) is highly desirable;
- Familiarity with Illumina's BaseSpace and ICA (Illumina Connected Analytics) platforms is a plus;
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment;
- Experience in a clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
