The North Europe Neurology Medical Manager support medical colleagues across all countries and functions. They build and develop enduring ‘win-win' relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to generate new scientific evidence and generate insights. The North Europe Neurology Medical Manager provide medical support externally as well as across internal functions that is aligned and integrated to the overall medical strategy within the BU. The North Europe Neurology Medical Manager executes the medical and scientific (non-promotional) scientific evidence generation strategy fully aligned with the North Europe Neurology medical and cross functional strategy. The North Europe Neurology Medical Manager is a trusted source of scientific evidence and medical information for North Europe.
Main responsibilities
The North Europe Neurology Medical Manager will participate to and execute the medical and scientific (non-promotional) strategy for the North Europe Neurology portfolio/therapeutic area in close partnership with the other functional franchise leads and in alignment with the overall franchise strategy.
The main responsibilities include:
- Lead creation and implementation of medical evidence generation plans and keep overview of progress, timelines, and budgets;
- Initiate and drive evidence generation projects to fill data gaps, raise standards of care and change clinical practice;
- Champion the patient voice when developing and implementing medical strategies;
- Utilise strong business acumen, acting as a key strategic business partner to the organisation;
- Drive strong collaborative relationships with commercial and cross-functional teams, including marketing, value & access, health economics, regulatory and clinical;
- Lead and drive rapid integrated evidence planning and execution through deep understanding of internal and external stakeholder evidence needs and robust data gaps analysis;
- Deep therapy area expertise and product knowledge including competitor data;
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with external experts (as applicable);
- Drive collaborative relationships with above-country colleagues to ensure country involvement and strategic input into Global and North Europe plans;
- Effectively and compliantly share unmet needs of HCPs and their centres on behalf of the country medical teams with cross-functional MCO teams to inform patient centric strategy;
- Develop a good understanding of HCP communication preferences to adapt communication style and optimise use of relevant channels to suit;
- Good understanding of the impact and evolution of healthcare systems;
- Implement true scientific engagement journeys by bridging channel disconnect to drive ongoing engagement and grow collaborative opportunities and meaningful scientific exchange;
- Leads internal collaboration centred around evidence generation activities and ensure data, facts and observations are gathered, reviewed and analysed to be identified and incorporated in strategic decision making;
- Create industry leading digital educational and scientific content that is timely, relevant, interactive, and innovative;
- Demonstrate strong leadership influencing across networks and by coaching and mentoring members of the team.
About you
- Doctorate level education preferred: MD or equivalent medical degree, PhD or PharmD. Minimum education of a MSc in biomedical or biopharmaceutical sciences required;
- Industry experience (including medical affairs field or office) and/or clinical experience mandatory, ideally with Neurology experience;
- Good understanding of the continuum of data generation including clinical development, Real World Evidence (RWE) and data gaps analysis;
- Ability to rapidly assimilate new data and integrate into new therapy area;
- Ability to act independently with a solutions-oriented and balanced approach to the grey areas;
- Excellent communication skills including driving challenging discussions;
- Be confident in the use of omnichannel tools and ability to adapt to new channels;
- Collaborates effectively with external & internal stakeholders while maintaining full compliance with company, industry, legal and regulatory requirements.
Languages:
- Intermediate level in spoken and written business English (required);
- Native Dutch (an advantage).
