Key Responsibilities
As a member of the In Vitro Pharmacology team, you will be responsible for testing potential novel medicines for infective and inflammatory diseases.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Determination of antibacterial and antiviral activity of novel compounds;
- Determination of mechanism of action of novel antibacterial compounds;
- Testing the potential of novel substances for induction of resistance in bacteria of interest;
- Managing in house bacterial strain collection and ensuring compliance to international guidelines in antimicrobial testing;
- Development, validation, and implementation of new methods for addressing increasing problem of bacterial resistance and testing of host pathogen interactions;
- Testing of novel compounds in biochemical and cell-based assays;
- Analysis and presentation of the obtained results to Selvita team members and clients.
Your Background
- Master’s degree in biomedicine, biology, biochemistry or similar disciplines;
- PhD in microbiology, immunology, cell or molecular biology, biochemistry is an advantage;
- Experience with techniques such as flow cytometry, qRT-PCR and ELISA is preferable;
- Previous experience as a postdoctoral researcher in above-mentioned fields is an advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
