Job Purpose
- Provide medical and scientific support for the drugs. He/She is responsible at RRD in assigned territories in accordance with local codes of practice in place;
- Develop professional relationships with key custumers to understand and improve the patient care journey (e.g. diagnosis, accessibility to treatment or diagnosis, disease awareness, understand epidemiology and facilitate the development of scientific programs);
- Participate in the training of regional and national experts on the scientific data of drugs for which he/she is responsible at RRD;
- The Medical Science Liaison is expected to spend approximately 70% of their time on customer-facing activities during the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and informative scientific/medical exchanges with external customers and internal partners, which accurately reflect scientific data, in accordance with compliance policies and procedures as well as with legal and ethical standards;
- Ensure continuous medical education, clinical doubts resolution and responses to solicited requests of information;
- Deliver medical/scientific training to unsolicited healthcare professionals requests;
- Be the products medical reference for the field force, the physicians and for HQ bringing medical expertise;
- Monitor with the Medical Department the needs of each Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) or Hospital regarding scientific questions and support medical information in building these responses;
- Identify, build and maintain strong relationship with KOLs support the publication of interesting case reports, encourage doctors to present the cases in congresses and meetings and develop actions plans by territory with the KAMs in line with the Brand plan;
- For off-label indications, collect the information requests and offer reactively information on possible new indications and follow up of the patients;
- Facilitate the setting up of Advisory Boards and Scientific meeting related to the top priority medical strategy;
- Active participation in the training programs for new hires;
- Provide scientific support for medical, marketing and market access activities as required (e.g. promotional copy design, brand claims, brand reviews, market research);
- Deliver, quality medical education presentations in a variety of settings and obtain feedback that can be disseminated throughout the organization e.g. staff meetings, round tables, hospital meeting activities;
- Deliver peer-to-peer clinical and scientific communications to develop expertise of regional and national KOLs in assigned medicines;
- Attend and support at International and local Congresses/symposia;
- Act as an ethical leader, work in team and demonstrate excellent awareness of the ethical, governance and compliance framework both internally and externally.
Required Education
- Medical Doctor or high scientific level.
Required Skills and Experience
- MSL Experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry (at least 5 years);
- Previous experience in rare diseases, in particular in oncology or onco-haematology and/or in niche market products is a plus;
- Experience in international context;
- Experience in big and medium size companies;
- Buying into the RRD Identity;
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with others as well as independently;
- Positive thinking and enthusiasm, team spirit, cooperative; Smart approach;
- Flexible and adaptable;
- Capacity to work effectively on multi-disciplinary teams in order to achieve desired outcomes;
- High level of planning and organizational skills;
- Concise and effective presentation and communication skills;
- Highly articulate and persuasive during formal and informal presentations, able to convey complex, scientific ideas fluently to any audience;
- Knowledge of local pharmaceutical regulations and related ethic behaviours.
Required Languages
- Full proficiency in English is mandatory.
