Senior Principal Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Principal Scientist in Chemical Synthesis or process engineering with expertise in continuous-flow processing, or automation, robotics, and modeling to develop and implement advanced procedures, lead multi-disciplinary project teams, and mentor scientific staff. The role involves planning experimental lab work, analyzing complex data, preparing high-quality reports, and contributing to strategic project planning. The successful candidate will also communicate scientific advancements internally and externally, innovate to establish intellectual property, and collaborate with external partners to stay ahead of industry trends. Applicants should have strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and implement procedures and processes in chemical synthesis or process engineering;
Plan experimental lab work, utilizing advanced experimental design and problem-solving techniques;
Collect and analyze complex data, prepare detailed reports, and present findings;
Lead and allocate tasks within multi-disciplinary technical project teams. Supervise, develop, and coach a team of 1-5 lab technicians or scientists. Provide performance feedback for team members;
Review and ensure high-quality scientific reports;
Contribute to strategic project planning and successfully complete high-priority projects;
Communicate scientific advancements to R&D leadership and business executives;
Innovate and establish intellectual property, and present research externally through conferences and publications;
Collaborate with external partners to stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.

Key requirements:

Ph.D., Ms. in preferred area of study: Organic Chemistry or process engineering with a specialization in continuous-flow processing or automation, robotic, and modeling;
In case of MS: At least 10 years in own discipline. In case of Ph.D.: At least 6-8 years in own discipline;
Peer review publications, podium presentations, and patents;
Written and oral communication in English and a good proficiency in German is an advantage.
