Job Description

Bicycle Therapeutics is seeking a talented scientist with strong in vivo pharmacology and tumor biology experience to support the preclinical research and discovery efforts for our expanding portfolio of Bicycle -based therapeutics.

You will have a passion for developing transformational treatment paradigms for cancer patients and will enjoy working collaboratively across programs.

This position will report to the Associate Director of In vivo Pharmacology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and interpret in vivo pharmacology studies to evaluate the activities of Bicycle® Toxin Conjugates (BTC®), Bicycle® Radio Conjugates (BRC™) and other compounds in our pipeline, including their mechanism of action and PK/PD/efficacy relationships;
  • Manage in vivo pharmacology research through a network of CROs and academic collaborations;
  • Effectively collaborate with cross functional disciplines (biology, DMPK, translational sciences, toxicology) and engage internal stakeholders to drive decisions;
  • Effectively document and communicate results company-wide in diverse settings ranging from project team meetings to internal L&D scientific forums (e.g. science spotlight);
  • Identify and validate pharmacodynamic biomarkers to support preclinical and clinical development;
  • Lead in vivo pharmacology sample management;
  • Author publications in peer-reviewed journals and represent Bicycle at conferences with scientific presentations in poster or oral formats.

Qualifications

  • Educated in biological sciences field with extensive industrial experience;
  • Hands-on experience using multiple types of in vivo oncology models is required;
  • Experience in working with toxin- or radionuclide-conjugates (e.g. ADCs, radiopharmaceuticals or other) is preferred;
  • Experience in in vivo model development and validation is preferred;
  • Knowledge and experience in pre-clinical in vivo SPECT or PET nuclear medicine imaging techniques including understanding of theory, familiarity with data acquisition and analysis techniques, and experience in quality control and presentation of such data is desired;
  • Some experience in managing external work/collaborations is preferred;
  • A strong background in cancer biology is preferred;
  • Capability of working both independently and as part of multiple collaborative and multidisciplinary teams;
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial, enjoys working in a fast-paced, small-company environment.
