Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, plan and perform/supervise scientific experiments and contribute to project related scientific/technical activities under minimal supervision (e.g., interpret and report results, generate and evaluate data, draw relevant conclusions, optimize existing methods/processes).
  • Conduct preformulation studies to understand the physiochemical properties of drug candidates and perform stability analysis, solubility analysis, and compatibility.
  • Efficiently use outcomes of solid-state properties analysis for preformulation studies, guide the design of dosage forms based on preformulation study findings while adhering to costs, quality, quantity, and timelines for all assigned tasks.
  • Work closely with the formulators to ensure the development of safe, effective, and stable final products.
  • Report and present scientific/technical results internally and contribute to publications, presentations and patents and in cross-functional teams across the network. Generate scientific documents to hand over to internal partners and support generation of international registration documents under supervision.
  • Support developing, establishing, and improving internal procedures, manufacturing process, and related analytical methods.
  • If assigned this task, maintain the infrastructure/equipment and required investments (e.g. system ownership) and generate lab procedures or SOP’s, protocols and reports in full compliance with Sandoz rules and guidelines.
  • Design, plan, interpret, report, present, conduct, maintain, develop, and work according to standards, quality Manual, SOPs, ethical, health, safety, environment (HSE), and information security (ISEC) guidelines meeting annual individual and team objectives, increasing efficiency and productivity in the projects and team.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Work Experience: 5 - 7 years of hands-on industry experience in preformulation.
  • Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in using/interpreting data techniques such as DSC, FTIR, XRD, TGA, and particle size analysis.
  • Strong understanding of physicochemical data, drug degradation testing and permeability studies.
  • Familiarity with computational modeling tools is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Proficient scientific/technical writing skills.
  • Languages: Fluent in English (oral and written), Basic German skills are an advantage.
