The newly established Professional Education and Medical Affairs (PEMA) division of Critical Care aims to educate, generate evidence and optimizing patient treatment for better patient outcomes. This role is key to help achieve these goals.
The purpose of the role is to work across functions within Europe and with Global to:
Accelerate adoption of innovation in advance hemodynamic monitoring;
Accelerate understanding of innovation both externally and internally;
Establish the value of innovative advance hemodynamic monitoring solutions.
Therapy Development: Accelerate Adoption of Innovation: Lead the development of an European Therapy Development Plan across product lines for Advance Hemodynamic Monitoring by partnering with functions and business stakeholders. Ensure alignment with the business strategy; Partner with Business Unit Managers from select countries, to develop country specific therapy development plans with optimal care pathways; Accountable for executing, tracking, evaluating and improving therapy development plans; Collaborate with non-commercial stakeholders such as Clinical Specialists, Innovation Group, Market Access, Clinical Affairs in planning and executing therapy plans; Run advisory boards to ensure HCP and patients voices are represented in the CCVas business strategy; Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and key opinion leaders in the field; Be a core team member for business planning through the development of annual operating plan and product launch plans; Conduct necessary research to get key insight into patient related data.
Education: Drive external understanding of CCVas innovations: Lead development of an overall training strategy for HCPs. The strategy should include training HCP on the principals of advance hemodynamic monitoring as well as optimal usage of new CCVas products; Track and report progress in training; Continuously assess and adapt delivery of training to ensure standards are maintained and resources are used optimally. Objectively measure effectiveness of educational tools, resources and programs and lead the implementation of solutions; Develop outstanding credibility through product, procedural, clinical and economic value knowledge.
Training: Establish a knowledgeable well-integrated Clinical Field Specialist group: Lead creation of a clinical field specialist group that supports optimization of patient pathways and physician education through medical programs, case support and capture of patient related data; Lead development of a training plan for CFS that covers on-boarding, on-the job training and personal development; Establish an manage a forum for CFS exchange of educational ideas and learning; Design, track and improve training for CFS on new products.
Value: Drive acceptance of the value of advance hemodynamic monitoring: Effectively create new programs that provides impactful value messaging to the CFS organization (e.g. value calculator app). Develop a launch plan to deliver programs to the CFS to effectively impact both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders (hospital admin, controllers, procurement officers); Drive program planning (create core team, manage cross-functional work streams, track clear KPIs) and deliver initiatives on-time in select markets; Patient related data collection/generated by the clinical innovation group will be designed to prove the value of the innovation.
Other incidental duties: Prioritize tactics, manage project budgets; Effective partnership and collaborate with marketing, training, innovation group, market access, and other key functions; Effective partnership with Global teams (Strategy, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, etc.).
Education & Experience:
Master’s degree (PhD desired) required with 12 years’ relevant professional experience in the healthcare industry (either medical devices or pharmaceutical industries);
Experience working in Global Regional and Local environment.
Influential, experienced in leading cross functional launch teams;
Capability to anticipate problems and provide innovative solutions to complex issues in specialized area, driving achievement of objectives;
Ability to interpret internal and external business issues and address them with impact beyond own sub-function and/or area;
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including sales & marketing leadership and external representatives. Previous regional leadership position is a plus;
Fluent English. Other language skills, such as German, French and Spanish, are a plus;
Strong accountability, creative, high energy, team player with integrity;
Ability to develop trustful relationship with the field force and external partners;
Proven successful project management skills;
Performance orientation, “can-do” attitude;
Strong business acumen;
Recognized as an expert in own area with proven success in launching breakthrough technologies /therapies in pharma/medtech;
