Responsibility:

Director Drug Development:

  • Main responsibility for the service area Drug Development, including follow-up of budgeted key figures for the service area;
  • To plan and supervise the work in the areas of CMC, Clinical and Preclinical development, Pricing and Reimbursement, and Regulatory strategy;
  • The Director is responsible for writing quotations within the service area, and for supervising the implementation of the signed agreements and work orders within the Company. This includes the finance system, start-up and performance of assignments, time reporting and invoicing;
  • The Director is responsible for the quality of the services performed within the service area and for making sure that client satisfaction surveys are performed regularly;
  • The Director is also responsible for the strategic development of the service area, to make sure the Company maintains a high level of expertise within the field, and for resource planning and recruitment;
  • The Director Drug Development is responsible for direct reporting consultants working in the fields of Drug Development and for the Managing Consultant CMC and the Managing Consultant Pricing and Reimbursement;
  • The Director Drug Development is also responsible for carrying out the work in a professional manner and in accordance with good practice in the industry.

Tasks:

In the role as Director Drug Development:

  • Together with PCs and MCs, where required, write quotations, including setting the price, for client assignments;
  • Implement and follow-up the implementation of new signed agreements with the finance department and the service department;
  • Participate at Quarterly Review Meetings together with the other Directors and the Quality Manager;
  • Follow-up on client satisfaction surveys and any performance deviations within the service area, and implement improvement actions, including any corrective and preventive actions;
  • Participate in the Leadership team and work strategically together with the other members on how to further develop the Company, the service areas, to expand the Company business and attract new clients;
  • Participate in external and customer meetings;
  • Follow the development of the market within the service area, and work the strategic development of services together with other Directors/MC.

In the role as manager the Director Drug Development shall:

  • Contribute to the well-being of his/her staff;
  • Give feedback on performance, quality of work and client satisfaction;
  • Perform yearly development discussions, approve Development plans and Training records for the employee;
  • Perform yearly salary discussions with staff;
  • Plan vacations and approve vacation applications;
  • Approve and sign time reports, flex accounts, and expenses etc.;
  • Manage specific questions related to the employees, such as working from home, reduction of work hours, leave of absence etc.

Qualifications

Formal requirements for education and experience:

  • Candidate must have a university degree in pharmacy or similar and have documented experience and knowledge within the department's business area;
  • Candidate needs to be experienced in creating business proposals and negotiation as well as customer relations and have a clear business acumen;
  • Candidate requires several years of experience from people management positions;
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience from cross-functional collaboration;
  • Experience from collaboration across several geographies is desirable but not a requirement.
