The Senior Product Manager (SPM) will be reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing and is responsible for strategic planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the marketing plan for Germany and Austria, working closely with the Marketing & Sales Director and Regional teams as well as leading the local cross functional regional brand-team to ensure product goals are met. In addition there will be a close cooperation with the international Brand and Congress Team.

The SPM will provide leadership and execution for the marketing plan and will own the product marketing projects. He/she will be solely responsible for the development, approval and implementation of specific programmes/projects and materials and will need to develop robust relationships with affiliate staff to ensure internal optimisation of product strategy.

This job also includes active collaboration and participation in the EU/RoW brand team ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals and that the German/Austrian business needs are represented accordingly.

Essential Job Functions:

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Act as a leader within Jazz Pharmaceuticals leading the local brand team and being an active member of the EU/RoW brand team;
  • Solely responsible for the development and implementation of the assigned product marketing plan for Germany and Austria. Develop a detailed 1-year, mid- and long-term marketing plan including positioning, sales forecasts, communication plan (publications, congresses, etc.), opinion leader development, projects etc.;
  • Development of specific promotional materials and programmes ensuring all are reviewed and approved in accordance with JAZZ Pharma standard operating procedures;
  • Become and remain an expert in the therapy area and work closely with external stakeholders;
  • Work closely with the Regional brand team to define the EU/RoW strategic brand plan;
  • Work closely with and be an active member within the EU/RoW brand team;
  • Work in accordance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals standard operating procedures and compliance;
  • Further build the reputation of Jazz Pharmaceuticals as a credible partner in haematology across Germany and Austria. Act as an ambassador for Jazz Pharmaceuticals following Jazz Pharmaceuticals mission, values and vision;
  • Manage third parties and contractors effectively to ensure high quality outputs and value for money;
  • Monitor and analyse the impact of activities within the promotional mix in order to maximise effectiveness;
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise and knowledge in therapy area by obtaining regular feedback from countries, KOLs and other business intelligence sources;
  • Support field force with promotional materials, trainings and local organised meetings;
  • Support the Key Account Management approach to optimise implementation of the marketing plan;
  • Being solely responsible for the marketing budget. Work closely with the finance team to ensure that planned expense estimates are accurate and regularly updated to reflect deviations from plan;
  • Act as a Product Champion through effective collaboration with key stakeholders, and by communicating a compelling brand vision with passion and energy inside and outside the company.

Typical Outputs:

  • Germany & Austria strategic brand plan by defining objectives, strategies, tactics, resources, including short and medium/long-term strategies aligned with the EU/RoW strategic brand plan;
  • Annual budget forecast;
  • Development, adaptation and implementation of materials and campaigns designed by the Regional brand team;
  • Development and execution of specific marketing programs/projects and materials;
  • Delivery of events (e.g. congress presence, symposia, stand-alone meetings) to support product objectives;
  • Marketing plan progress versus plan update and variance analysis;
  • External experts engagement plan;
  • Sales forecast follow up and deviation analysis to ensure product objectives are achieved on a timely basis.

Candidates will need the following attributes and experience:

  • Essential: Proven Pharmaceutical Marketing Experience in a hospital environment;
  • Essential: Good understanding of the German pharmaceutical landscape (hospital setting);
  • Essential: near native/fluent in German;
  • Essential: very good command in spoken and written English;
  • Ideal: proven experience in launching a medicine;
  • Ideal: Oncology or haematology/Orphan Drug experience;
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Life Science preferred);
  • Excellent IT skills - familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational;
  • Results orientated and demonstrated problem-solving skills, with pragmatically scope problem-solving approach, and manage execution;
  • Ability to influence and generate commitment from others without direct authority;
  • Ability to drive projects forward work on own initiative and work with a cross-functional team;
  • Strong project management skills to meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrate management and execution skills in matrix team to meet deadlines;
  • A demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and planning;
  • Excellent analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for;
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal/ communication skills to interact with Healthcare Professionals and colleagues in 1:1 and group settings;
  • Ability to work well and deliver under pressure.
