Job Description

We seek a Director of Product Management within Global Marketing in Agilent's Pathology Division. The role of Global Marketing is more important than ever and the position leading our Product Management team exerts a highly visible role in the Pathology business spearheading the diagnostic profile of Agilent. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our tissue-based cancer diagnostic franchise spanning from routine clinical diagnostics towards precision medicine.

You will report to the Associate Vice President, Head of Global Pathology Marketing. In this position you will lead a team of highly skilled Global Product Managers (GPMs) covering the entire product portfolio across Instrumentation, Reagents and Software. The team is structured in a way that you will both have individual contributors reporting to you as well as a manager who oversees a sub-team GPMs.

The successful candidate will help foster a highly collaborative environment across regions and functions, with the ability to dig into details, make decisions quickly and stand up to challenges when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Global Product Managers responsible for Instruments, Reagents and Software and lead new product innovations and development projects
  • Work collaboratively with the broad Pathology commercial team (Marketing Management, Field Marketing and Sales) to drive commercial strategy and growth for the business;
  • Responsible for worldwide supply, demand and pricing for product portfolio; update and present forecasts regularly to management, finance, and manufacturing teams;
  • Lead and leverage analyses of business and market trends to define customer requirements, competitive strategy, and business opportunities for increasing customer and business value;
  • Manage the overall portfolio roadmap and lifecycle for new Instrument, Reagents and Software development and corresponding business cases as input to the annual Strategic Planning Process;
  • Lead teams through new product development processes from concept through commercialization, including voice of customer, definition of customer and product requirements and value proposition, manage product launches and sales training to secure effective ramp-to-volume on new product introductions;
  • Provide guidance to the team and offer quick prioritization of tasks and projects in order to stay effective and focused on delivering according to timelines in a busy environment;
  • Present and represent the Pathology Marketing organization at key strategic conferences, customer-facing seminars and internal sales meetings
  • Be the ambassador of Product Marketing.

Qualifications

Your profile:

  • 10+ years of direct product management or marketing experience in the tissue diagnostics/Pathology or broader IVD industry;
  • At least 5 years' experience in a leadership position managing culturally diverse and remote teams in a large international organization;
  • In-depth Market, Customer and Product knowledge from the Pathology/Tissue diagnostics market;
  • Master's degree in Business, Nature Science or Engineering with profound understanding of the diagnostic industry;
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization across functions;
  • Proven ability to build relationships and guide teams which include representatives from multiple functional areas, including R&D, Sales, Field Marketing and Manufacturing, ..
  • Fluent in English. Note that fluency in Danish is not required;
  • Ability to travel up to 15% at times, both domestic and internationally.
