Medical Affairs and Medical Education Director, PI EMEA

To support the expansion of our PI (Peripheral Interventions) division we are reinforcing our Medical Affairs and Medical education activities and are creating a combined Medical Affairs/Medical Education Role. The core objective of this role is to lead HCP Medical Education and Medical Affairs strategy and implementation in EMEA. This role will report into the VP, MAMA and will be part of MAMA leadership as well as part of PI divisional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define Medical Education and Medical Affairs strategy, plans and resources to support PI business priorities;
  • Lead, develop and support the EMEA Med Affairs PI team, providing clear direction, best in class mentoring and professional development;
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders from Division (global, EMEA, local) and key functions such as US Med Ed, US clinical, Educare COE, HEMA, KOLs to perform needs assessment and understand priorities;
  • Acts as the Medical education COE for the Division:
    • Design Medical Education strategy and tactics to support the business;
    • Identify appropriate resources & support across the division/organization to execute;
    • Coordinate overall planning & execution;
    • Leverage Multi- channels and digital customer engagement ecosystem to optimize customer experience.
    • Define, monitor and communicate key performing indicators. Make continuous adjustment as needed;
  • Together with division, US clinical and Med affairs US define ISRs areas of priorities and participate in the process of identifying and selecting research projects with global clinical department. Manage ISR process including funding allocation and execution;
  • Ensure optimal dissemination of clinical & HE data to internal and external audiences (including EMEA symposia/congress presentations);
  • Engage with identified HCPs and KOLs to demonstrate clinical outcomes and support value proposition of company products, technologies and therapies;
  • Be the voice of the region in the global evidence plan process to ensure that the appropriate clinical and HE endpoints required for the region are planned for.

Main Requirements

  • Medical Doctor or solid scientific background ideally with PI expertise;
  • Significant experience in medical device industry with previous experience in developing Medical Education/Med Affairs strategy and programs and KOL management;
  • Experience in working in a European environment;
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels inside and outside BSC;
  • Leadership competencies at Director level:
    • Maintain a long term big picture view on education and med affairs and align with business needs;
    • Generate and champion new ideas and approaches;
    • Strong customer focus;
    • Model and promote collaboration across the organization;
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills;
    • Excellent analytical and decision making skills;
    • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels;
    • Strong integrity, adaptability, speed and entrepreneurial spirit;
    • Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities;
    • Team management, development and coaching;
  • Fluent in english. Additional European Language is plus;
  • Requirement to travel 50%.
