Scope of Work

The role reports to the GM of France, is part of the France Management Team and collaborates closely with Marketing Manager and field-based commercial Regional Managers located in France in addition to other functions (e.g. Medical Affairs, Market Access, Clinical Science, Development, Pharmacovigilance etc.) based in the HQ in Switzerland or in the West European Region.

The overall scope of the role is:

  • Effective leadership and accountability of medical function;
  • Provide strategic, scientific and medical leadership to France;
  • Effective and aligned France medical franchise plans;
  • Effective collaboration and sharing best practices between France & HQ;
  • Adherence to Santhera SOPs and country codes of practices;
  • Participate in European Medical Leadership Team (EU MLT).

The responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Develop and maintain high performing medical team;
  • Identify strategic medical activities to support franchise growth goals for France;
  • Develop Franchise Medical & Publication Plans for France;
  • Alignment of French Franchise Medical & Publication Plans to EU Plans;
  • Closely cooperate with Market Access functions to obtain Pricing & Reimbursement for Santhera products in France;
  • Develop and manage Early Access plans and projects (e.g. ATU’s) for Santhera products in France;
  • Help shape EU Franchise medical and commercial plans;
  • Develop, oversee and implement French top KOL/PAG engagement plan;
  • Effective & aligned medical communications, congress & educational plans;
  • Timely delivery of tactics to quality, budget and time;
  • Ensure high quality and effective product & therapy training platforms;
  • Ensure effective support and collaboration between Santhera medical team and field colleagues;
  • Collaborate and contribute on high priority France/EU projects;
  • Compliance to relevant SOPs and WIs;
  • Timely and compliant review and approval of marketing and medical materials;
  • Act as the senior medical representative of the company in France.

Required qualification and experience

  • MD, PhD or other higher scientific degree;
  • Mandatory minimum 5 years of experience in medical affairs function in a pharmaceutical company or demonstrable clinical leadership and expertise in neuromuscular disease in a French expert/university centre;
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a leadership role;
  • Previous experience in speciality or rare diseases desirable;
  • Availability to travel as required;
  • Mandatory fluent in English; any further languages are an asset.
