Kyowa Kirin are seeking to appoint Director, Development Team Leader within our Head Office in Galashiels, Scottish Borders.

This individual must establish, lead, direct and motivate cross-functional project teams to define and achieve the project goals in accordance with the agreed strategy, timeliness and budget. They must identify, review and resolve project issues and manage conflict resolution. They must ensure effective communication processes in place for sharing information within the project team, with peers, with management, and with the KHK-assigned Project Leader.

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish, lead, direct and motivate cross-functional project teams to define and achieve the project goals in accordance with the agreed strategy, timelines and budget;
  • Identify, review and resolve project issues and manage conflict resolution;
  • Ensure effective communication processes in place for sharing information within the project team and with management;
  • This individual must establish an effective working relationship with Project Leaders assigned by KHK to the relevant project(s);
  • Coordinate establishment of the product development and/or life-cycle strategy (goals, timelines, budgets, resources);
  • Provide regular updates on project development activities to senior management and coordinates key decision making process;
  • Ensure core project documentation is maintained e.g. development plans, target product profile;
  • Review resource/experience requirements with the department heads and resolve issues;
  • Other activities as required or as assigned by management to achieve project goals.

Position Requirements:

To be successful in this position you will require the following:

  • Master’s or PhD degree preferred. Extensive experience will be considered in lieu of education;
  • Extensive experience in the drug industry including significant experience in early or late clinical development, with experience in NDA/BLA filing preferred;
  • A working knowledge of biology, chemistry and medical terminology is required. Basic understanding of clinical trial organization and management would be beneficial, as well as the operational practices of central laboratories. Should possess working knowledge of toxicology, pharmacology and data management study design and data analysis.
