About the opportunity

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Rare Blood Disorders and Rare Diseases represents a primarily field based, medical, and customer focused role enabling medically oriented interaction with external stakeholders based on individual contacts, educational events and medical projects. The MSL is an expert on Sanofi-Genzyme products, disease states and areas of research and drives strategic partnerships with Healthcare professionals (HCPs) at peer-to-peer level, developing their knowledge and providing solutions to support appropriate use of Sanofi-Genzyme’s medicines supporting better health in patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future thought leaders within the RBD area;
  • Participate/organize/present at/in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations at office visits, advisory boards, medical meetings, and other appropriate venues to enhance product knowledge;
  • Active participation in relevant congresses, symposia and other relevant meetings. Summarizing content and engagement with KOLs;
  • Initiate and be responsible for regional scientific expert meetings/advisory boards/round tables for HCPs (and nurses);
  • Adheres to corporate SOPs and ensures vigilant compliance with relevant legal and regulatory guidelines governing scientific interactions with physicians and healthcare professionals across all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information;
  • Support colleagues (e.g. market access, marketing and sales) in medical and scientific questions;
  • Ensure HCP’s understanding of latest scientific findings and identify evidence/information gaps of patients, caregivers & HCPs;
  • Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed medical information to key customers and stakeholders, including giving scientific presentations;
  • Be a strong partner to the RD/RBD/ENDO franchise: provide continuous input, medical advice and training on request;
  • Responds to requests for investigator-initiated trials/NIS. Along with RBD Experts and investigators, the MSL identifies, conceptualizes, and activates investigator-sponsored study concepts to identify unique product characteristics;
  • Provides investigators with support for study development, accrual of data, completion and publication;
  • Collaborates with clinical team and CRA’s to coordinate and optimize site visits with investigators participating in Sanofi-Genzyme trials.

Your qualifications

  • MSc/PhD degree in life sciences;
  • German, English and French (written and oral fluently);
  • 2-3 years in a similar position (MSL, Medical Advisor, Medical Manager);
  • Proven in-depth scientific knowledge of the therapeutic area & related diseases with demonstrable interest for science and its advancement;
  • Experience in Rare Blood Diseases or hematology is desirable;
  • Flexible personality;
  • Strong customer focus;
  • Talent for organization, excellent time management skills;
  • Team player, though capable of working autonomously;
  • Manages projects or programs with high ethical standards, all in line with the legal requirements and provisions of international and local codes of practice and within the allocated resources;
  • Identifies problems and proposes innovative solutions;
  • Meets set agreements with customers and colleagues.
