ABOUT THE ROLE

Intertek Pharma Services Manchester (IPSM) has an extensive range of analytical instrumentation and provides analytical services to customers in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, personal care and speciality chemical sectors in a GLP, GCP and GMP regulated laboratory. The Team Leader role is an integral part of the Cell Potency team and will be accountable for managing a group of 12 analysts and scientists.

This is a hands-on role requiring regular interaction with clients, scientific and regulatory staff within the laboratory. As a Team Leader you must be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of analytical expertise including method development and validation. You will act as the responsible individual for multiple analytical projects undertaken by the laboratory whilst providing technical leadership for routine, non-routine and problem-solving analytical tasks as appropriate.

The role will be based at Hexagon Tower, Blackley, North Manchester where the site offers a variety of on-site amenities including a gym and restaurant. ABOUT YOU

  • BSc/MSc/PhD in Chemistry (or related scientific discipline);
  • Proven experience in the leadership and coordination of a scientific team is essential;
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of Cell Potency/Cell Based Assays and associated techniques;
  • Understanding of the regulatory requirements or ‘Good Working Practices’ which apply to the pharmaceutical Industry;
  • Experience and good working knowledge of the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry with good commercial understanding and natural business acumen;
  • Possess a broad knowledge and technical understanding of method development and validation.
