Senior Medical Manager, Hematology (Cell Therapy)

Position summary:

As a Senior Medical Manager you have both field-based as well as office-based responsibilities. You will be key in providing medical support in the Netherlands within the area of oncology, in particular cell therapy. You will report to the Medical Director and work very closely with the Associate Director Medical Affairs Cell Therapy and the cross-functional team. As a Senior Medical Manager you require a strong biomedical background, you must have very good communication skills and be an excellent team player. You are responsible for liaison with thought leaders and healthcare professionals in academic and clinical centers for scientific exchange and data generation.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Exchange complex clinical and scientific information with health care professionals (hematologists, oncologists) and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Respond to and document unsolicited requests for scientific information;
  • Establish and maintain ongoing scientific collaborative relationships with Key Thought Leaders (KTLs) (including physicians and nurses) in the Netherlands;
  • Conference coverage (national and international) including staffing exhibits, reporting on scientific sessions, and facilitating meetings with KTLs;
  • Provide clinical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups;
  • Provide support for content development and delivery of Advisory Boards;
  • Work closely with other field based employees as well as office based staff to rapidly respond to questions, issues, etc. from sites.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Degree in biomedical sciences (PharmD, MD or other) and PhD strongly recommended;;
  • Expertise in hematology and/or oncology is required;
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical industry or related healthcare field is required;
  • Experience of working in the Netherlands, including knowledge of national regulatory requirements;
  • Must be committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge base;
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Fluency in English and Dutch is essential;
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional matrix;
  • Ability to travel frequently, occasionally with short notice;
  • Driving license.
