The Global Franchise Medical Lead for Immunology & Inflammation is accountable to develop a medical vision and innovative strategies, set up operational direction and provide medical/scientific leadership for the I&I Medical Affair franchise with the aim to deliver medical/scientific success in the Global Franchise.

This individual will serve as the primary medical affairs point of contact for the therapeutic area of focus, internally cross-function and externally with medical Dermatology community and external stakeholders, to identify patients’ and multi stakeholders’ needs.

He/she needs to act, behave and deliver accordingly with high level of internal and external collaboration and engagement to enhance overall Galderma patient and stakeholders centricity and satisfaction.

The Global I&I Franchise Medical Lead has to demonstrate the following strategic and operational abilities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads the Global I&I Medical Franchise to create a comprehensive Global Scientific/Medical Affairs strategy and plan for the therapeutic area and brands portfolio.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of an effective Franchise medical communication strategy and plan for each brand within the Franchise, linked to the annual brand plan and the Global Integrated project plan.
  • Leads the medical communication strategy, aligned with global franchise strategy and local countries needs and ensure execution of key activities.
  • Understands and translates into Medical Affairs strategy and plans, the unmet medical needs and patient access needs to contribute to impactful patient outcomes.
  • Provides input into clinical Development on potential new therapeutic opportunities, to enrich registration programs and to consider new therapeutic indications.
  • Leads the scientific collaboration with the medical community, building, strengthening the global external expert relationship.
  • Supports identification of patient association groups and professional societies needs through empathetic close interactions.
  • Develops and maintains best in class external engagement plan with multi stakeholders in Dermatology.
  • Supports Medical scientific review of business development opportunities in the therapeutic area of focus.
  • Ensures Franchise Medical Affairs activities are designed and executed in compliance company wide policy guidelines and medical quality standards.

Expected qualifications:

  • Medical Degree, a Dermatologist and or an Immunologist/Allergologist by training will an important plus.
  • More than 10 years of successful experience in the Pharmaceutical environment with a proven prior experience at large country and or regional level in Medical Affairs.
  • Depth of knowledge and experience in clinical strategy development, trial methods and operations.
  • Developed analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Business acumen and market knowledge is required. Must possess a thorough understanding of the global markets, competitive landscape, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Leadership Capability. Able to achieve organizational focus on key priorities; delegates and effectively builds talent within an organization through guidance and mentorship.
  • Innovative thinking, good judgment and sense of ethics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with key opinion leaders and the medical/scientific communities at large.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to interact with all levels within the organization and to deal with key opinion leaders and the medical/scientific communities at large.
  • English: fluent spoken and written, another European language (French, German) will be a plus.
