Key responsibilities:

The EMEA Director of Myopia Management will work with region and country level marketing teams ensuring the best messaging and effective communications to our company and customers. Working closely with the VP Global Myopia Management and Specialty EyeCare Marketing Team to ensure consistency and collaboration.

You will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the CooperVision EMEA Myopia Management effort, for establishing the regional standards for both in-bound and out-bound commercial and marketing activities, through the engagement and involvement of regional and country level marketing, including, corporate marketing, partner/channel marketing, product marketing, and product management.

  • Work closely with EMEA regional leadership and country commercial leadership to provide marketing expertise and programs to support myopia management activities and coordinate with global myopia management objectives
  • Develop the EMEA annual myopia management commercial plan in support of organizational strategy and objectives.
  • Strategic planning including corporate positioning on myopia management, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
  • Define and direct marketing programs for demand creation.
  • Ensure communications are coordinated, support commercial plan objectives and meet organizational expenditure requirements.
  • Support pricing policy for Myopia Management brands, including MiSight and Ortho K.
  • Oversee communications including branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and events collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis.
  • Collaborate with Specialty Eye Care Divisions and regional Sales to develop and manage channel and partner strategies and programs.
  • Provide brand management for myopia management in EMEA, leveraging global content and direction, to include collateral production and management. Directs an integrated EMEA social media communications strategy, to include strategies for traditional and digital communication.
  • Monitor competitive products and marketing activities. Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, and electronic media.
  • Oversee product introduction and commercial initiatives including product launch management, marketing training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support.
  • Be a role model for the company culture

Key knowledge, skills & experience:

We are looking for someone who has excellent leadership skills, ideally from within a Marketing role previously. As this is an EMEA role, you will need to have had international exposure ideally focusing on the EU markets. Ideally this role would suit someone from an optical background who already has an interest in and understanding of Myopia management. Other skills and experience required include:

  • Excellent commercial, marketing and interpersonal skills, negotiation and influencing skills, team motivation ability, strong business acumen to manage all aspects of a multi-country business, in-depth knowledge of marketing, financial and legal principles.
  • Experience of building a business leading a high-performance team to achieve challenging market growth and profitability.
  • Experience in the medical products industry, ideally with products that have both consumer and professional aspects.
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team oriented, matrixed environment.
  • Experience in choosing, deploying, and using commercial and marketing software applications.
  • Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales, marketing, and competitive business strategy.
  • Extremely effective public speaking skills and presence.
