Job Summary

The Vice President International Operations is accountable to set the strategy and lead all operations and supply chain functions outside the USA with teams locations based in Europe, Asia Pacific and Costa Rica. This strategic and operational leadership role is a member of the Regional Leadership team and Global Supply Chain leadership team. This is a key role in building and improving the operational infrastructure and delivery platform to accelerate Hologic’s international growth with a drive to persevere and win in the marketplace. Responsibilities includes leading over 600 employees including two manufacturing sites: Costa Rica accountable for disposable consumables production and Manchester, UK for molecular diagnostics production. This role will be based out of Manchester, will consider candidates that require relocation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive international growth as a member of the Regional Leadership Team(s) and Global Supply Chain Leadership Team;
  • Build and improve the operational infrastructure and delivery platform to accelerate growth;
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of international operations initiatives that align with Commercial and Global Supply Chain strategic goals and objectives;
  • Lead and deliver against performance objectives and KPI’s focused on quality, safety, service, new product development and cost efficiency for the international operations;
  • Lead the international operations organization deliver the highest levels of customer support and effective partnership cross-functional to customers and to internal departments for materials, manufacturing, and engineering;
  • Ensure continuous, high-quality supplies of commercial product to customers, facilitating the development and transfer of new products to a commercial status, and providing necessary equipment and services to enable the corporation to differentiate with best customer support and highest level of effectiveness;
  • Provide insights and information contributing to corporate business, strategic and tactical plans;
  • Manage capital and expense budgets, maintaining production efficiencies to maximize product financial margins;
  • Maintain good regulatory compliance and represent Operations at the executive level for all international regulatory ISO and FDA interactions;
  • Ensure maintenance of production and project schedules to maximize customer service levels and facilitate new product introduction projects;
  • Lead talent strategies ensuring best Operations' top technical and managerial staff and engagement.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience. Medical Device or Life Science experience strongly desired;
  • Experience and proven knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement;
  • Minimum of 8 years in direct Supply Chain management functional experience;
  • Strong track record of leadership and managing in a dynamic growth environment;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management or Business required;
  • Master’s degree desirable or equivalent business experience;
  • Travel: Up to 50% for site visits and to attend regional and operational meetings.
