As Global Medical Affairs Director Emapalumab your main aim and goals are:

  • Develop and implement a Global Medical strategy for emapalumab in accordance with the overall Brand and Specialty Care strategy.
  • Develop the value strategy for specific product and contribute to Patient Access strategy implementation.
  • Develop and lead prelaunch and launch strategy and implementation across therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure development of Medical (launch) strategy for the specific product.
  • Lead Global Medical (launch) team for specific product and ensure delivery of all medical objectives, to agreed timelines, cost and quality.
  • Contribute (and, as appropriate, co-lead) development of Patient Access strategy and delivery of agreed outputs.
  • Ensure general internal launch readiness for emapalumab.
  • Ensure internal Medical launch readiness processes are in place across therapeutic area.
  • Establish and maintain Sobi as a scientific partner in clinical community for the specific therapy area.
  • Ensure internal high standard medical knowledge in specific therapy area.
  • Represent Medical function in internal Brand/Strategic team and in Partner/Sobi steering committees.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, from Medical perspective for the assigned product.
  • Oversee Medical budget for product and identify resources needed to fulfill medical objectives for specific product.
  • Ensure that all medical deliverables are compliant with internal SOPs as well as international compliance guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Main Assignments:

  • Develop Global medical/launch plan, and follow up of local/regional plans for alignment and support.
  • Lead the Medical team, and ensure that team objectives are fulfilled.
  • Lead launch readiness team meetings in organization for specific product.
  • Forecast, manage and follow-up all medical deliverables with regards to time, cost and quality and ensure appropriate contingency plans are in place.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Patient Access tools; supporting the development of local value dossiers.
  • Ensure appropriate training and scientific support to medical, commercial and market access personnel on specific product and strategy.
  • Establish and maintain global thought leader and stakeholder network, through targeted activities, to gain insights into market and patient access landscape.
  • Ensure regular communication of Medical strategy and project progress updates on a specific product to management.
  • Ensure development of all non-promotional material related to a product.
  • Ensure development of publication strategy for a specific product.
  • Establish ISS strategy for a specific product.
  • Ensure quality and speed of responses to medical questions related to a specific product.
  • Represent Medical in internal product benefit risk team.
  • Function, as appropriate, as liaison between collaboration partner and Medical team.

Professional Competencies:

  • MD, PhD with a minimum of 10 years’ experience within pharmaceutical drug development.
  • Extensive experience of drug development process, from early clinical phase, through regulatory authorization processes, to launch strategy development.
  • Good understanding of Patient Access strategy and overall business priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills including risk assessment and contingency planning.
  • Demonstrated skills leading global, multi-disciplinary teams.

Personal competencies:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including e.g. build, lead and motivate global teams.
  • Ability to see a complex program from a "big picture"/strategic level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with communicative and flexible attitude.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good influencing skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
