The Sales Director, Nordics shall be responsible for defining the business strategy for the Nordics to enhance the management and development of the sales organization across Elekta´s product portfolio.

The role of Sales Director is to generate orders, revenue and profitability and manage base cost in line with the individual targets set for the Nordics and manage the overall business success of the Nordics. They are required to ensure that service; order fulfilment and other functional teams work closely to achieve sales revenue generation in line with company targets whilst maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Skills Required

  • Leads the Nordics Customer Managers in the execution of their individual AOP, ensuring all the team drive towards achievement of the overall North Europe Cluster Operating Plan;
  • Manages the sales function in the assigned area in order to maximize sales, volumes and revenues and to the assigned Operating Plan;
  • Responsible for implementing the sales plan as agreed with the Cluster Vice President, incl. forecast and OP, monitoring the sales effort and performance against budget and to take corrective actions where necessary;
  • Is the point of escalation for commercially operational issues, escalating to the Cluster Vice President only when necessary;
  • Has the authority and accountability to negotiate contracts and prices within the limits of the sales plan and Elekta sales policy;
  • Supports the Cluster Vice President in liaising with other disciplines such as Order Fulfilment, Finance, Sales Operations and Service;
  • Is a member of the North Europe Cluster Leadership Team - Collaborates with all functions of the North Europe Cluster to maximize sales opportunities;
  • Continues to manage key accounts and grow the business in line with the cluster growth strategies and expectations;
  • Ensure continuity of the relationship with the accounts and operates at multiple levels in the accounts’ organizations, but also facilitates the executive level interfaces between company and the accounts where necessary;
  • Prepare the annual territory business plan in line with the business strategy and execute at geographic level;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of local marketing strategies;
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate account level CLM input for assigned accounts in sf.com including: opportunity lists; key contacts; Installed base data (Elekta and non-Elekta); sales activity logs including key meetings;
  • Ensure that regular face-to-face performance and coaching meeting take place with all direct reports and where necessary ensure that any underperformance/training needs identified are documented and HR support requested;
  • Ensure all direct reports have a meaningful annual performance planning and evaluation meeting where development activities are discussed, documented and acted upon within a timely manner in line with Elekta Global policies;
  • Incorporate Elekta Values into departmental functions and responsibilities.

Relevant skills and Experience Required

Key performance competencies:

  • Excellent team player at all levels with strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to effectively interact directly with customers across all disciplines (hospital management and administrators, local politicians, oncologists and other medical staff, technologists and medical physicists;
  • Ability to influence key managers to help achieve objectives;
  • Proven ability to involve all hierarchy levels of a mid-size industrial company to achieve the country’s objectives;
  • Effective negotiator;
  • Entrepreneurial and sales-oriented personality.

Relevant Experience:

  • Proven track record of achieving personal and team-based sales performance targets within the capital goods markets;
  • Marketing and direct sales experience ideally in a capital-intensive medical industry;
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of Indirect/Distributor Marketing and Sales;
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of Elekta´s product portfolio;
  • Solid knowledge and experience of the medical devices industry generally.

  • Personality based on strong ethical standard, values and good judgement;
  • Persistent, enduring and prepared to make strong personal commitments;
  • Strong people leadership and motivational skills.

Other requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree desirable (science, clinical or business-oriented) or equivalent knowledge acquired through business experience;
  • Polished communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Knowledge and experience of working within a corporate, multicultural environment;
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
