Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director to join our Drug Safety & Public Health team in Cambridge. Reporting to the Director DSPH you will in this role have oversight of Risk Management and Medical Safety Science (MSS) within DSPH.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Responsible for performing or overseeing the following activities as appropriate:
    • Signal detection and evaluation in collaboration with a safety physician;
    • Authorship of aggregate safety reports (e.g., PSURs);
    • Development of risk management plans;
    • Authorship of responses to regulatory agency safety enquiries;
    • Contribution to safety analyses in Regulatory submissions (e.g. MAAs, NDAs);
    • Collaboration with partner companies on safety evaluation for co-licensed products.
  • Chairs cross-functional safety committee meetings (internal or with partner companies); able to present complex information clearly;
  • Participates on and may lead various cross-functional teams, involving interaction with Gilead staff within and external to DSPH, to convey and acquire drug safety information internally and externally;
  • May recruit, hire, and manage direct reports, with responsibility for employee performance evaluations, and participate in educational initiatives;
  • Contributes to audits/inspections of systems and procedures to ensure the quality, integrity and compliance with pharmacovigilance and safety reporting regulations, including authoring of responses to findings relevant to functional area.

Specific Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Solid experience of Drug Safety in both clinical and post-marketing global environment highly desired;
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline;
  • Previous management experience is preferred.
