Head of QA Project Management

Do you have solid project management experience? Can you lead and develop a dedicated team of QA project managers? Our great team deserve a manager, who will take their project management skills to new levels as well as champion the work they do. In return, you will get a unique, broad understanding of our business and be able to influence strategies within the area.
Securing top QA in product development
You will head a team of ten QA project managers, who are overall responsible for QA deliverables in our product development projects. They report to the project manager in Research & Development while managing a team of various QA specialists.
They also take on a go-to specialist role in relation to development and review of documentation, testing processes, sampling and other QA issues.
Lead, motivate and develop
Heading up the team, your role will be to lead and motivate, as well as to ensure their development – both individually and as a team. One focus area for you will be to support them in developing their functional project management skills even further.
Another area will be to facilitate and drive the organization of the team’s specialist competencies. The aim is to have each team member focus on a specific capacity such as sampling, documentation and so on to strengthen their specialist competencies even further.
Influence strategies within QA
You will also be part of the QA Innovation Support & Surveillance leadership team consisting of four people, as well as an extended leadership team in Global Quality headed by a VP.
As such, you will be able to influence strategies, particularly within QA and QA project management, and it will be vital that you can build a deep understanding of your team’s value in development projects (especially to R&D and other stakeholders outside the team).
What you bring
- First and foremost, we expect you to have deep QA and project management expertise that you can pass on to others;
- You hold an MSc in Engineering or similar;
- You have experience from a management position in QA environment within the medical device industry;
- You have an overall understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO 13485, 9001);
- You have solid experience as a project manager (probably 5+ years) that has given you a complex understanding of the field;
- You speak and write English fluently.
It is important that you can set directions and communicate clearly the how and why of your decisions. Functioning as a sparring partner for stakeholders and team members, you are good at switching gear, enabling you to move into solution mode when necessary and explain next steps to help your team or other stakeholders see new paths ahead.
As you will be keeping track of projects the team is involved in, you need to be structured in your approach to your work and able to see the bigger picture. You have a strong and inspiring leadership profile and understand the concepts of change management and the importance of clear communication and empowering leadership.
